Completely acrylic, roughly 35x12 inches. I don't know how long it took, I hate timing myself.

This is going up for sale at an art show - how much would you buy it for?

Critique appreciated, everyone who contributes constructive feedback, or any feedback, gets a hug. I want to improve!

"A friendly cyclone" x) I still need to show you, it's really not that difficult. But I already told you this in person, haha.

That's absolutely gorgeous. I was going to say $300 range as well, and no being a student makes absolutely no difference at all as far as pricing goes. The only outside factors I know of that should impact the price you assign to a piece are 1) the economic conditions and norms of the region you live in and 2) your audience for the event, for example if it is a charity event or a holiday sale people may "want" to pay a little more for lack of a better word because they are intending to donate a certain amount to the charity or intending to buy their friend a present in the "$$$" range and don't want to feel like they under-spent.

Since #2 is not a concern I would simply do your best to learn about the expectations of people in your region, with $300 being a reasonable base price for your piece that you would charge all other things being equal. You can talk to local galleries to see what people generally pay for art.

I know two people who would love to buy it, if they show up at the gallery, but as for my general community - maybe if I had added more trees... a lake... a moose? Hahaha.
I asked my art teacher about pricing for everything and I have, actually, decided on $300 as a price. Thank you for all of your help! You are truly a fantastic person.

I think it is hard to give feedback for abstract or surreal paintings, because you never know if it was intended to be like that... But you asked for it and I want a hug. :XD:
First, I really like the concept with the yin and yang sign (?) with the gold and silver and the warmer and colder parts. The fact that it is not placed completely symmetric on the canvas makes it very interesting, but to me the the red part on the right looks a little bit too small and it has a very clear ending line, not like on the other side with the smaller clouds in the red colour... Ahh, I can't explain it properly, I hope you can understand me.

Yes, that was inspired by the yin yang sign c: That's a good point - maybe I put a bit to much effort in to making the clouds on the right look solid. I understand you haha, artists speak a language others cannot fathom to understand c:
Thank you!

I wouldn't sell an acrylic for less than 300.

Really? How much does size determine the price? Also, I'm just a student - wouldn't that mean I should sell if for substantially less than that?

Materials aren't cheap, and I look at size and detail as relative to the amount of time a piece should take. I'm no professional artist, but I have run a small business for years. Depends how much one needs the money and how many potential customers there are, too, I suppose. Never forget, auto mechanics and pool servicemen get 20/hour. I once paid 400 dollars to have my bumper painted on a car. Shouldn't a talented artist get similar pay?

I had to respond to your comment here..
Just because you are a student doesn't mean you should have a lower price.. This is a unique piece.. As long as the price fits the piece it should be fine.

I look at a lot of art.. this is truly a one of a kind. Don't underestimate your art's worth.. Just think reasonably.. :]

Like... Price the piece, not who made the piece. The piece is what's hanging up, not the person.
