To Turn Away

Description

Similiar to the last piece I uploaded, this was done without really knowing what I was drawing. It ended up turning out very well, I especially like the feeling the texture (I actually used a specific brush for that) gives to it, but the hair sticks out a bit more than I'd like it to.

Critique, please. I'd love to know how I'm doing. c:

I have two other pictures that I'm working on, both fan art. I have no idea when they'll get done.

At first, I wasn't going to write a critique for this piece, but it's been awhile since you've uploaded it, and no one is really giving you the feedback you deserve.
The more I looked at this piece, the more I wanted to say. A lot of your talent definitely shows in this picture, however; there are a few things that could be improved upon.
You display an excellent use of brushes and lighting. The brush type really adds to the effect, and creates an interesting mood. However; the hair, although excellently textured and eye-catching, could have been shaded a bit more. It just seems a bit flat here and there. I love the warm, soft yellow light shining down on her, it gives the viewer the impression of "coming out of the dark", and "looking towards the light". Great choice when it comes to colour and opacity, it's perfect.
Now, the anatomy in this picture has its ups and downs. The face is amazing, very well done when it comes to structure and proportion. The nose, which I find is one of the most difficult body parts to draw, is excellently done. It's perfection is very admirable. The yellow design on her face is another pleasing touch; it adds to the overall image without stealing all of the viewer's attention. Very creative.
The last thing I want to comment on is the anatomy of her body. Now, I understand how difficult drawing a profile perspective can be, I myself have difficulties with it. I think you've done a good job, except the neck should be thinner. Also, her collar bone should be more evident, to show us where her neck ends and her chest begins.
In its entirety, this is a lovely piece, with great emotion and excellent technique. It seems that every Deviation is an improvement for you. I hope to see a lot more work from you soon. c:
